December 20th - Long time ago

It's been a while since we wrote, so we will try to be better now over the Christmas break!

It's been tuff for Ross and I the last little while. We have a lot of feelings and thoughts to fight. Some days it feels like the whole world around us is falling apart and some days are really good. It's hard and frightening to not know how the future looks for our little angel. We know one thing though and that is that it is going in the right direction for Alicia and she is our sunlight that brightens up our lives!!!

We are really excited to celebrate Alicia's first Christmas, and it will be celebrated 3 days in a row. On Wednesday we will have my parents and Fredrik over and eat a American Christmas dinner with turkey. Thursday we are going to my grandparents and we will celebrate Swedish style with the whole family and on Friday we will have a Christmas party with our friends from the footy team. It will be a nice and long Christmas!!!

Alicia is still getting stronger and stronger and she gains more control over her body. She is still close to sit on her own but she doesn't have the balance yet. Hopefully soon!!!

Last night Alicia and I made Christmas candy and listened to carols. Alicia sat in her chair in the kitchen and sang and talked very loudly for about an hour. She was so excited and happy and its so great to see her like that!!

Here are some new pictures to enjoy!!

I love the picture of Alicia with her friends and the one of her in her santa hat. She is getting prettier and prettier! Linda, I'm glad you got to make Christmas candy with your little doll. I hope to bake something with Jamison over the break too.

I know it must be so hard not knowing what the future holds for Alicia. Just know that we are praying for you guys, your stamina and spirit and praying for miracles for Alicia. It's great that you both talk to each other (and us) about what you are feeling. We are here for you.

Happy that you guys are going to have a nice, long string of celebrations. Hope you enjoy some Swedish glug (sp?), lots of good food and company.

    Merry Christmas

  2. Hail to Alicia!

It's difficult to say Hail to the Redskins this far in the season but it is a pleasure to say Hail to Alicia and the bundles of love she is receiving from her parents. She looks so cute in the little Redskins outfit. Love the way she is able to hold her bottle and how her posture is really improving. Won't be long before she can sit, "All by myself!" She is so cute, I can't get over how two different grandbabies in two different countries with two different sets of parents can look so much alike. Alicia is beginning to look a lot like Jamison!!! I see Jamison everyday so I'm an authority on that statement.

Linda, it is good that you and Ross are communicating. Many times one will be up while the other is down. That is normal in any relationship. It is importnt that you live in the present and not try to predict the future. Learn from the past, live in the present to make it a brighter future.

    We love you guys!

At last I see those new teeth! And, Alicia is holding a bottle...I think that is major improvement!! These pictures are wonderful. Every time you put a new entry on the blog, I see how much she has grown and what she is now doing. You are correct in saying she is a real fighter! Her progress may be a little slower than others but she is making great headway in catching up! All parents have moments of wondering what the future holds for their angels. You all have been thru a lot and are much stronger for it. Keeping feelings inside will not help you develop into the parents and husband/wife team you need to be for Alicia. I'm glad you are getting your thoughts out in the open and seeing how the other thinks and feels.

I checked on a few flights last night for February and I found a couple for around $500 including tax. Can you send me the dates you think would be best for me to be there? Ross, you mentioned something about a week holiday for you and maybe that is the best time for me to come over. Let me know so I can book a flight soon.

    Love,
    Mom L
