August 26th 2011 - Busy, busy, busy...

Since we got back from the States our life have been very hectic. It’s been hard to get in to the right routines and to find new routines.

When we got back we decided to move Damien’s bed in to Alicia’s room. We don’t want Damien to feel kicked out of our bedroom when the new baby arrives so we thought it was a good time to do it now. This has resulted in that we needed to get them use to sleep in the same room at the same time as they were really jetlag. It’s been a struggle, but it’s getting better….

The biggest thing that has happened since we got back is that both kids have stated daycare. It’s been a couple of hard weeks both time wise and emotionally.

Alicia has started at a new daycare. This is a regular school and Alicia is in a group of 16 kids were most of the kids are between 2-4 years old. There are 3 teachers for the group and then there is one assistant for Alicia. Everything has really worked out for the best and we are really pleased. The teachers are being really good to Alicia and they are so excited to work with her. All the kids are so sweet. They want to include Alicia in their activities, they bring her toys for her and give her lots of kisses!

Our happy girl!!

Damien has started at a different daycare just by our apartment. He is in a group of 15 kids between 1-3 years old. The first week he and I went there together for him to get use to the teachers, the kids and the new atmosphere. He really liked it and it was exciting for him with all the new things. This week I started to leave him and we extended the time every day. In the end of the week he spent the whole day there on his own from 8.30-14.30. The first days I left him he didn’t cry but the last two days have been so hard. He was so sad when I left and it broke my heart to walk out of there… The teachers said that he calmed down really fast after I left so that feels good to know at least. I don’t know who this is the hardest for – him or me… Other then the hard separation he is doing really well there. He eats well, he takes a nap on madras on the floor with the other kids, he loves playing in the big yard and he seems to like all his new friends. The teachers are saying that he has been really good and they think that he has handled these two first weeks really good.

"I don't want to go to school"

Damien kissing his freedom goodbye...

Alicia started up her training as well this week. She did really well considering that she has been of for the whole summer. The trainer she had last term is gone and an old one is back. She is really good with Alicia and we are really glad to have her back!

We are so happy that Damien and Alicia are enjoying school. It is hard for Mommy but so nice for the kids!! Looks like Damien is ready for a busy day at school. The picture of him at the door is precious! Alicia is so used to school now and you can tell she just loves it. Isn't it wonderful to know she is being taken care of so nicely and they all just love her so much. We love this blog because it keeps us up-to-date on the children and on you two! What great parents!
Today, Jamison started crying and kept saying she wanted Damien and Alicia to come to play. It was so cute!!
    Love,
    Mom L
