April 4th 2012 - Liam update

Our little Liam is definitely not an infant anymore. He has turned in to a big 4 month old boy. It is a joy to be around him. He is always in a good mood and he constantly has a big smile on his face. Just by us looking at him he starts laughing and cooing. He is a very social baby and as long as somebody is around him he is the happiest. There are 3 things that makes him cry – tired, hungry or a dirty diaper.

Liam is a very active guy. As soon as you put him down on the floor he rolls over from his back to his tummy. There he lies with his head up high and studies all the colorful toys. He loves to lay with Alicia on her mat and look at her. Many times Alicia will gently touch his head almost like she understands that he is a baby. Liam also loves his walker and he runs throughout the apartment in it. He can stay content in there for a really long time. He hasn’t learned to sit up on his own jet but he loves to sit in his bumbo seat on the floor with his sister and brother. He also likes to take baths with Alicia and Damien and has a nice chair he can use in the tub. I think he prefers to take his bath with Alicia because Damien has a little habit of getting a little crazy splashing and getting everything wet… You can tell that Liam loves being with Alicia and Damien. He is always happy when he is around them!

Liam sleeps pretty well during the night now. We usually put him down between seven and eight. Most of the time it takes him a few minutes to get comfortable and find his way to fall asleep, but he does it on his own. Before Ross goes to bed he feeds him a night bottle to keep him full throughout the night. Right now it’s about 50/50 if he wakes up one more time or not. Sometimes he wants a bottle around four but lately it’s been enough to just give him his pacifier and he will go back to bed. After that he will get up in the morning between seven or eight.

Now that Liam is 4 months old we can start letting him try solid food. We have just started but he seemed to like it. So far he has just tried potatoes/corn. Today I think we are going to try out the porridge.

On Saturday this past week he spent his first night away from Mommy and Daddy. We had a birthday party to go to so Mattias and Marie looked after Liam. He had been a really good and it hadn’t been any problems at all. Liam had been in a really good mood. Mattias and Marie said that they wanted to look after him again so he must have behaved =)
