Alicia is so adorable when she wakes up. Just about whatever time she awakens, it is hard not to be in a good mood when you go to take her out of bed. We know that she is up because she usually gets our attention by singing a beautiful Alicia song. It goes something like, "Awweeeeeewwwwwwwwaaaaaahhh." It is a mixture of happiness and excitement to start the day. After we hear what we call the Alicia alarm clock song, one, two or three of us walk in to see how Alicia is doing. As we walk in we sing back to her, "Good morning, good mooorrrrrrning La la la la la la la."
We then look at her with anticipation wondering how her long locks of hair are going to appear to us. Sometimes she looks like a lion with a beautiful mane of hair, other times she looks like a happy Rastafarian with her hair all over the place. Alicia then makes us feel like rock stars by the way she starts kicking her legs out of excitement, shaking her head back and forth, and laughing and smiling uncontrollably. All of this usually makes Damien and us smile. Damien will then go over to Alicia and starts patting her as he bounces up and down. He then looks at us as if saying, "Are you going get Alicia out of bed or what?" He will then either hop up into her bed, or take some of his toys out and put them on the bed next to her. As soon as we pick Alicia up she gives a big happy sigh and then she will sing to us some more. As we are holding her she starts patting our arms, or holds onto our arms with her incredibly soft hands. The amount of love, and happiness that she gives us through her gentile touch on our arms is indescribable.
She definitely makes waking up a lot easier, and is our beautiful sunrise on even the rainiest day.

Yes, Alicia's morning song is the sweetest sound! I loved waking up to it this past Christmas. I look forward to this June and July hearing her singing to wake us up! She really is growing up! Every picture you post of both Damien and Alicia shows how much they have grown...Damien doesn't have that baby fat but instead has long legs and is really thinning out...probably because he is constantly moving/running:) Alicia is becoming much stronger. The video of her sitting by herself shows how much she has improved! And, you have two of the happiest children in the world!!! Keep up the great parenting!
Love,
Mom L.
