I’m so proud over Alicia. She is a fighter how never gives up. She is so happy and content with her life and it doesn’t seem to bother her that the smallest thing she is going to do is a project… She just smiles and laughs – and it makes me so happy to see her happy!!
After a winter with colds and colds and colds she is now doing some great progress. All of a sudden she is showing a lot of interest in standing up. We just need to hold her under her arms and she tries to lock her knees and find her balance. She lifts one leg at a time and wants to take steps forward. Definitely didn’t expect this!! Two years ago when she started her training we did this exercise and it was so hard for the conductor to hold her cause she was hanging with every part of her body and did not help at all. I use to think that it was waste of time. And now, two years later, she wants to walk…. She needs a lot of help and support, but she wants to do it!!! It is amazing! She is amazing!! ♥
We have continued taking her out horse riding and she really likes it. At first she gets a little upset when we put on the safety west and the helmet. But when she gets up on the horse and she feels the movement when the horse walks forward she just smiles. The best is when they trot, she loves it and laughs uncontrollably. It is a joy to look at her! On this past Monday she started in a group and she handled it really well. Hopefully we can take her there every Monday afternoon until we go to the States. This fall we will sign her up for a full term!
Everything at daycare is going really good. She is always happy to go there and all the kids love her. When we get there in the morning a whole bunch of kids comes running up to her screaming “Alicia is here, Alicia is here!!” It warms the mommy heart to see! The teachers that are working with her thinks that she has improved so much since she started in August. Just the other day they told me that she walks forward in her walker now when they take her outside. She has just moved back up until now.
It’s great to see Alicia’s progress and I hope we can reach some goals this summer when we have so much time together!!

Aunt Sue is writing for Uncle Craig. He says, "Ride em cowgirl, Alicia!" Aunt Sue says, "Wow, that pony sure looks like a lot of fun! I wish I could go horse back riding every week!!!"
Great Going, Alicia

Thank you for the wonderful update on Miss Alicia. She is getting so big now. I love hearing about her horse training. From what I have read, this is excellent for special needs children to help with balance and confidence. You are doing everything right for Miss Alicia, Damien and Liam. Dad and I were thinking of getting a window air conditioner for the back porch so it will be cool for her to walk on the wooden floors and for the boys to play with cars with no rugs in their way. What do you think????
Won't be long now!
Love,
Mom L
