December 1st 2008 - Christmas is coming up...

Christmas is getting close, and we can start to feel it!! This weekend we put up some decorations and it looks really cozy in our apartment!! We really wish that we could have both of our families together for Alicias 1st Christmas!!

This has been a busy week for Alicia!! She has celebrated her 1st Thanksgiving (two times...)

On Thursday we had some friends over for dinner. Alicia helped Maria and I all day to cook. We made it all - the Turkey, homemade stuffing, pineapple casserole, green bean casserole, cauliflower casserole, sweetpotatoes and so on. Matt had even made homemade cranberry sauce!! The dinner was a success!!

The girls!!

Alicia trying some dessert!!

Soooo full!!

Alicia had sweetpotatoes and turkey and she really loved it!!

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving nr 2. We went to Helsingborg to a colleague to Ross. We had a delicious meal and great company!

Alicia is getting stronger and stronger . She can sit up on her own if you just give her a tiny bit of support., she hasn't found her balance a 100%. I went to the physical therapist with Alicia on Thursday and she gave us some new exercises that we can do with her that I thought looked really good. The therapist had not seen Alicia for 2 weeks and she thought that she had done great progress since last. That felt really good to her from her!!

It was the last babyswim for this year on Thursday as well. We will miss it!! It's so great to see Alicia in the pool. She kicks her little legs so much and she "sings" a lot. I will miss the get-together with the other parents afterwards, I have come to appreciate that a lot!

Alicia on her way to the pool.

On Friday Alicia, Grandma and I went to the pool so Grandma could swim with Alicia. Unfortunately a lot of things came in Alicias way so she was not in her best mood. First she got hungry, then she pooped and then she got tired.... I think we need to give it a new try...

We have finally got Skype to work and on Friday we got to talk to Sue & Craig and PapPa and MeMere. It was so great to be able to see them when we talked to them. We got to see Alicias beautiful cousins Jamison and Harley. It was the first time that we saw Harley so that was very special for us!!

We are really excited about Alicia right now and the progress she is doing. We can feel that she gives us so much more response now. It's hard to explain, but it just feels like things are getting better and better.... We love our little girl so much!!!

Keep up the good work, Alicia, Mom and Dad. You guys are really working as a team and because of that common goal, everybody wins and is stronger for it. Not only are we proud of Alicia's commitment and perserverence, we are also proud of your encouraging work with Alicia. Everyone gives Helen Keller a lot of credit which is well deserved but in the background, when no one knew Helen Keller, Annie Sullivan, her teacher was there teaching her the basics.
    Love you guys,
    Dad

Linda, thank you for all of the pictures and storyline! Alicia is getting so tall. The last picture shows how much she has improved. Look at her with her head up and body balanced! I loved the picture of the baby pool. She must love going there because it is so pretty. I also love the new wallpaper. You're right, it is bright and silvery! The pictures of everyone sitting on the couch after Thanksgiving Dinner are priceless!

    Love,
    Mom L
