February 23rd 2010 - Our first days in the US

Ross and I had prepared for a long and hard flight. We new that Alicia would be good, but we were pretty sure that Damien would cry most of the trip. We got surprised... Both the kids slept the whole way, and just woke up for some food and fell right back a sleep.

The kids were very jetlaged the first days. They both feel asleep on the way to a family dinner at the restaurant Macaroni Grill, slept through dinner, the car ride home and then all night (or until 5 am..)

It's been really nice to finally meet up with the whole family again. We have missed everybody so much. All of the cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course the grand parents have really enjoyed meeting Alicia again and seeing Damien for the first time. Alicia and Damien's cousins, Jamison and Harley have been really curious and friendly towards their Swedish cousins. When all of the kids are in the same room it's is like having our own little daycare. Pappa keeps all of the kids super entertained, while Damien and Alicia love snuggling with Me Mere while she gently rocks them.
Alicia really likes all of the attention. Anytime she does anything, for instance finishes her food, takes her medicine, plays pattie cake, walks in her walker, or does wha whas everybody claps loudly and says, "Yeah Alicia! Yeah Alicia!" Alicia instantly gives one of her heart warming smiles as if saying, "I did it!"
We are so glad that we have so much time left to spend with the American side of the family. Linda and I are happy that we will get to have more time to get to know Damien and help set routines with having two kids. All of this will occur while doing numerous little fun family day activities.
