February 22nd 2009 - Budapest - Day 5

This was our last day in Budapest. We decided to go to Széchenyi, this is the biggest bath in Europe. We really liked it!! First we went in some of the indoor pools since we didn't want to bring Alicia to the outdoor pool. They had one heated pool with a stream in, so you went in and then you just went around and around without really doing anything. We also went in to one of the thermal pools with Alicia. It was us 3, and the rest of the people were 70+. Everybody looked at us and smiled to Alicia, who was super happy since she was swimming!!

After a lot of swimming Alicia got tired and was ready to go down for a nap. We got her dressed and put her in to her stroller. Ross and I went for a swim in the outdoor pool. It felt really weird to go outside in just a swimsuit when we had been walking around in the snow the day before. But it was so nice, the water was really warm!!

After the bath it was late afternoon and we took the tram in to the city center. We went for a walk down one of the exclusive shopping streets and we went in to one mall. Alicia got super hungry when we were going to leave the mall and went crazy. I don't think I have ever heard her scream so loud... =)

In the evening we went back to the nice restaurant area we had looked at the other night and went for a really nice dinner.

Our little Budapest get away was just what we needed. We had a great time and it was nice to get away from our everyday life and just relax and be together. I think we got closer as a family and we needed to just take care of each other!!!!

Were the baths warm springs or were they mechanically heated? I know Alicia loves the water. I can't wait to see her at the pool this summer and also at Nags Head!

How much did it cost to go into the facility. Alicia enjoyed the water?
