September 6th 2010 - A Friday afternoon hike

On Friday we decided to go for a hike after Ross got off work. We drove out to the countryside and went on a 6 km long hike around a lake. I carried Damien on my back and Ross carried Alicia on his.

We finally figured out a good way to carry Alicia. Since she grew so tall she has not been sitting very well in the backpack and this has really upset us since we love to hike with the kids. This time we tried to put Alicia in a soft carrier with a headrest for when the kids fall asleep. She sat rally good this way and a lot more stable since she gets so close to our body. It feels like this opens up a million opportunities for us and I have a feeling that there will be many fall hikes this year!!!

I'm glad you figured out a new way to carry Alicia. The two of you should write a book about how to think outside the box! I was thinking that it would be great if someone invents a hiking stroller that has shock absorbers so you could hike over rocky areas with Alicia in the stroller.

Jay will be meeting up with Ross this month. Is there anything you want me to send with him for the kids?

    Love,
    Mom L.
