Alicia was pretty tired when I got back from work on Tuesday. She had been to the eye doctor and had some drops put in her eyes that could have made her tired. She had also seem to be getting a little cold. The doctor's visit went well with her saying that it looked like Alicia was seeing much better than the previous time we visited! ....so back to when I got home. Alicia awoke for just long enough to get a little snack in. She was pretty tired and didn't get too excited for her favorite classical cd's. We had to go to my work for one 10 minute conference. Well the parent did not show up, so it was a nice little adventure for Alicia anyway. A couple of teachers said, "Hi," to Alicia, but she wasn't into the school scene too much. She is just like her dad when he use to go to school, bored and asleep. As soon as we left and I was about to put her into the car she let out a big laugh. When we got back home she ate and was off to sleep all the way until it was bottle and medicine time. Then it was sleepy time again.
Alicia didn't seem to be feeling great on Wednesday either.
On Thursday she felt much better. First she went to swimming class with Mom. She was about to fall asleep when she got to the pool. Linda was worried that Alicia might get cranky when she was going to get in the water with Alicia, because of the really short nap. Mommy was wrong. At the beginning of the session the three mommies hold their babies in and sing children's songs to them. Alicia was just singing and splashing away. The instructor and the other mom's laughed because Alicia was so happy.
When I got home in the evening I wasn't in the best mood. It can be hard to work in an environment that is negative towards kids with learning disabilies, especially when your baby has some learning difficulties at the present time. .....Meanwhile it was time to give Alicia some food. Linda hade made some baby food for Alicia by grinding up different meals and then freezing them. When I started to feed Alicia she wouldn't stop, she loved it. She had her fruit dessert of blended blackberries, rasberries and apples (it was good). I thought it would be to tart for her, but she loved it. I then squeezed at piece of a sour type of mandarin (organge) in her mouth and she loved that as well.
After a hearty dinner she was in a great mood. We put her on her mat for a second and all of a sudden she rolled over on her stomach and had her head straight up and was looking out! She has never had it so high or straight before. I wanted to grab the camera, but I did not want to miss anything when I would leave to get it. Her head had been up for about a minute when Linda got the camera and we started filming for another minute. So two minutes holding her head high up, looking out like a big girl!
We are proud too

So Alicia is a little water girl, huh? Go figure. . . She is a Levesque you know! She loved the pool here in the states too. I bet Linda was proud of her little fish.
Good to hear Alicia is getting stonger. What progress on her head and neck control. Awesome!!!
Her berry lunch sounds awesome. Can I have some too? Now all you need is a little whip cream on top!
Love you. Big kisses from her auntie.
Great up keep!

Ross and Linda,
I love this blog! I can picture everything you describe over and over again! Our little Alicia is progressing leaps and bounds! I loved the part about her laughing as she left your school! I bet you laugh everytime you leave too! Linda, the water therapy class sounds like fun for both of you. You can tell she has some of Ross's swimming genes!
I can't wait to see her with her new glasses. I bet it will open up her world!
Ross, don't let the turkey teachers at school set your attitude. We have turkeys in all professions. Some people just don't get special ed...and that's too bad for them because they are missing the most precious moments in life watching a special needs child overcome the impossible. Both you and Linda have a God given character of compassion for all, including general ed students! (Thought I was going to say special ed, huh!) :)
Love to all in Sweden!
