May 25th 2010 - It´s a joy to be two

You hear from many parents that have a child with special needs that they are scared of having more children and I understand that. Of course I thought about the risks as well and I was terrified at times, but I tried to focus on that the doctors have said that it shouldn't happen again. Think that there are 11 known children with Alicia's syndrome and there are around 7 billion people in the world. That puts it in prospective, the odds are pretty small... I guess that makes our little Alicia even more special!!

What I want to get to is how happy I am that we took the chance and decided to have another baby. Ross and I have always talked about having a big family. Alicia and Damien loves being around each other. Alicia has the biggest smile on her face every time she hears Damien and Damien loves his big sister. He runs after her in his walker and looks up at her with big eyes. It melts my heart when I see them together!

What a gorgeous shot and entry! It melts my heart when I see how much my two love having each other around too. It's wonderful that Damien and Alicia are loving each other's company.

Linda - I always cry when I read on this blog, it´s so beatiful words and descriptions on your life together with Alicia and Damien, and I´m so proud of you.
We meet and talk very often, but sometimes I think it easier to write down the feelings. You Linda has always done that, and Ross is also a great writer.
    We love you so much!

    Linda,
Thank you for your lovely written description of your love for both of your precious children. We all hoped that you and Ross would have more children and were so excited for you two when you announced your pregnancy! Little Damien is so special to bring you additional joy because eventhough Alicia has special needs, she has given you two so much joy raising her. You have encouraged her and each other every step of the way. Now Damien brings a new aspect to your wonderful job of parenting. We think you and Ross are perfect parents!!!
    Love,
    Mom L.
