During the time Mormor and Morfar were visiting we celebrated Swedish midsummer with our two families. We had new potatoes, herring and strawberries on the menu and also a couple of American additions. We introduced everybody to the Swedish songs and dances. A lot of fun to see the reaction to "små grodorna"!!
We made paper flowers for all the kids to were on their heads. It was a really successful party!!
Uncle Jay took Mormor, Morfar, Ross and I on a night tour around DC and we ended the night at a whiskey bar with a huge selection. Morfar got to enjoy a $42 glass of whiskey!!
In the morning before Mormor and Morfar were traveling back to Sweden we went out and had an all American breakfast at IHOP. Yummy!!
We are enjoying a lot of time in the pool in Me Mere and Papaw's backyard.
Ross and I took the kids to the zoo. The kids love to walk around and look at all the animals. As usual the elephants were one of the favorites!
This visit Liam had a situation with his pacifier. We were watching the tigers when Liam all of a sudden starts screaming!!! He had thrown his pacifier into the tigers' and he was sad because he couldn't get it back. We tried to reach it with a short branch, but we couldn't get a grip on it. Oh well, I told him that it was gone and that he need to hold on to them. Liam was throwing a fit and by now there was a big crowed around us feeling so sorry for Liam. Two worried moms were able to locat a zoo worker that came to Liam's rescue. The worker gave Ross a snake pole and Ross reached in and grabbed the pacifier. When he got it back the crowed around us were clapping. I couldn't believe how envoled everybody got... =)
MeMere and Papaw were celebrating their 42nd anniversary. We all went to go play put put golf. It was a very interesting experience with 5 kids under 7 years old. After that we had a ice cream party at MeMere and Papaw's q house. Congratulations!
Ross was able to go with Jay and watch the US play one of the worldcup games.
This week was the first time we made it down to the pool. Alicia was loving it as she had a full day of swimming and splashing around. Liam was being really funny and crazy. He has no fear so we had to keep a really close eye on him.
