Happy birthday Alicia!
It's been a lot of celebrating in the Levesque household lately. Last but not least we celebrated Alicia's birthday this past Sunday. 6 years old! I can't believe she is 6 years old!!
Mormor and morfar came over to celebrate with us. Since she is a gourmet girl we served lamb with oven baked potatoes and bearnaisesauce. She loved it! Of course we had cake as well. We had made a chocolate cake with cream for her and we served it with raspberries. She usually don't eat sweets but she liked this cake as long as it was drowned in berries!
She got to enjoy two long baths and one foot bath on her big day. What is better for Alicia?!?!

Alicia, My star!
Thinking back it use to be a lot of problem to get Alicia to take fluid. She refused to drink water, milk, juice and so on. The only thing she would drink was formula from a bottle...
Now look at this girl...
By herself she picked up her mug and drank all the water without help. She understood to bring the mug up higher and to lift her head up to be able to finish it.
I'm so proud of you sunshine!!

Melts my heart
It just melts my heart to watch the boys with Alicia. They have picked up all the signs that we do with her, they help her and many times I find Damien in Alicia's bed in the mornings playing and talking with her!
The other day I over heard a conversation between Liam and Alicia. I was preparing Alicia's breakfast in the kitchen and the kids sat around the table. Alicia was playing with her beads. When she doesn't want them anymore she throws them on the floor. The boys knows this and Liam said "Alicia don't want beads. What do you want to play with?" When he didn't get an answer back he got a little upset... "Alicia talk to me. Alicia talk to me." I went over there and told him that Alicia can't answer him with words and asked him what he thought Alicia wanted to play with. Liam ran in to Alicia's room and got her "talk button." This is a button she presses when she wants to play with her favorite toy - Kalle krabba. He gave it to her to press and said "Alicia wants Kalle Krabba." He ran and got it for her and then continued his breakfast.
I was so amazed that Liam got her button to press to tell him what she wanted instead of just getting the toy. They understand that they can have smal conversations with Alicia and that she can communicate with them. Sometimes it's so smal signs she does but those boys are really paying attention.
As I said - It melts my heart...
Finally snow
A couple of days ago we finally got the first real snow of the year. Yesterday Alicia spent the the day with mormor & morfar so we bundled the boys up and got ready for afternoon in the snow. Just 5-10 minutes walk from our place there are some awesome sledding hills. The boys really enjoyed the snow and the hills! After a lot of laughter the tears came along with cold hands... It was time to walk home and enjoy some hot chocolate!
Daddy and the boys getting by the hills.
After a couple of hours in the cold it's nice to warm up with some hot chocolate and cream. Daddy and Damien fell asleep while Liam and I made it...
A tired Damien...
